The projects' successful completion and effectiveness depend on the collaboration of several key segments of the DM community. These DM community segments include the following.
DM-Affected individuals and their family members
Each participant will provide his story, a portrait-style photo, and information about his or her region for publication in this project. Each writer whose DM journey story is published under the Book Project agrees to manually review and provide translation edits in his native language of a maximum of two machine translated testimonials written by other authors. This approach helps ensure the accuracy of the machine translations. Affected individuals and their family members shall not incur any financial expenses through their participation.
DM Community Organizations
Each organization participating in this project will receive an open-end PdF file with the stories selected for the book. The organizations are free to design introductory material such as book covers, cover pages, and other materials needed to appropriately link the project's stories to the DM community organization's existing materials. These organizations will pay any expenses related to completing the book with their own information and its distribution.
Example: An American Foundation will receive an open PdF file with the stories selected for the Book in English. It will add its own introductory material and will make the Book available for downloading on its website at a specific date and time.
A German association will receive the same open-end PdF file with the stories selected in German. It will add its own introductory material and will make the Book available for downloading or for ordering in the members area of its website at a specific day and time.
The goal is to release the Book simultaneously on multiple sites using multiple distributing channels while the project celebration is held in Basel, Switzerland.
